Come aboard Argonaut II and experience over a century of maritime history!

 

Argonaut II has been an important part of BC coastal history for over 100 years. Built in Coal Harbour in 1922, this 73' historic wooden vessel was first launched as the Greta M and later known as the Thomas Crosby IV. Now undergoing a vibrant restoration directed by owner Nichola Verrochi, Argonaut II is a piece of living history that continues to tell the stories of remote coastal communities. Join us on a tour of this unique vessel and discover a rich and storied history of connection at over 50 ports of call in Northern BC - at lighthouses, canneries, logging camps, and Indigenous communities.

 


The restoration of Argonaut II is community funded through charters and an online community! These tours, offered in collaboration with the Maritime Museum of BC, support this restoration as well as the collections and programming at the museum.

 

Argonaut II is a heritage vessel and as such is not an accessible experience. This tour includes admission to the Maritime Museum of BC.

The Maritime Museum of BC is on the territories of the Lekwungen speaking peoples who have respected these lands and waters for thousands of years. It is currently located downtown at 744 Douglas Street close to Victoria’s downtown Inner Harbour and the Empress Hotel. Here, you will find exhibits, a nautical-themed gift shop, and research space.
